Last Updated: 26th October 2019   This Privacy Policy describes how UpSchool EdTech Private Limited incorporated under the Companies Act, 2013 of India and its affiliates (“UpSchool,” “we,” “our” or “us”) collect, use, and share information in connection with your use of our websites (including https://www.up.school ), services (including https://parent.up.school , https://teacher.up.school ), mobile applications (UpSchool – Student) conditioned upon acceptance of the terms and conditions available at https://www.up.school/terms-and-conditions.   This policy is applicable to all employees, associates, vendors, agents, directors and any other person affiliated with UpSchool EdTech Private Limited    For Users under the age of 18, it is mandatory that your parents or guardian have read and accepted this privacy policy on your behalf. If your parent or guardian has not read and agreed to this policy, you will not have permission to use our services. UpSchool collects parents or guardian contact information from affiliated schools ( Customer / Client ) with their consent to avail of the service and has the right to contact parents as and when required with regards to the services availed.    We recommend that you read this Privacy Policy in full to ensure you are fully informed. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

As a member, you are required to provide a valid email address or mobile number at registration that represents your identity on our application. Registration or signup to our service happens via affiliated schools ( Customer / Client ) with consent to avail of the service. This information is compiled and analyzed on an aggregated basis. We also collect and store personal information provided by you from time to time on the Application. We only collect and use such information from you that we consider necessary for achieving a seamless, efficient and safe experience, customized to your needs. Personal information collected is

  • Name. Provided by affiliated school/education institution
  • Profile picture. Capture during the on-boarding process
  • Parent contact details will be used to access the application and will be collected by affiliated school/education institution
  • Associated school and school-specific details are provided by the affiliated school/education institutes

Following security practices, yourself, such as not revealing account/login related information to any other person and informing our customer care team about any suspicious activity or where your account has/may have been compromised.  

 

OUR USE OF YOUR INFORMATION

We use the collected information to analyze trends, to conduct research, to administer the Application, to learn about each user’s learning patterns and movements around the Application and usage behavior about our user base as a whole. Aggregated and individual, anonymized and non-anonymized data may periodically be transmitted to external service providers to help us improve the Application and our Services.  We may disclose Information:

  • As required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process
  • To enforce applicable Terms of User, including investigation of potential violations thereof
  • When we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, address security or technical issues or respond to a government request;
  • To protect against imminent harm to the rights, property or safety of the Application its users or the public as required or permitted by law
  • Any portion of the Information containing personal data relating to minors provided by you shall be deemed to be given with the consent of the minor’s legal guardian. Such consent is deemed to be provided by your registration with us.

You further acknowledge that the application and website may contain information which is designated confidential by Us and that you shall not disclose such information without our prior written consent. Your information is regarded as confidential and therefore will not be divulged to any third party unless legally required to do so to the appropriate authorities. We will not sell, share, or rent your personal information to any third party or use your email address for unsolicited mail. Any emails sent by us will only be in connection with the provision of agreed services and products.
